Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Flexnote desktop, mobile, and web applications, and to the website at myflexnote.com. By creating an account or using Flexnote, you acknowledge this policy.

If the Chinese and English texts differ, the English text controls.

Flexnote is local-first. Notes are stored primarily on your device. You can use the local application without sending those notes to Flexnote.

You are responsible for the security of the device and for your own backups. If a note exists only on a device and that copy is lost, we cannot restore it.

If you create an account, we store what is needed to sign you in and operate the account: an account identifier, the email address you use, and authentication records. Account records are held by our account provider, Supabase.

We also store the subscription status, purchase records, and Smart Index quota balance tied to that account. We do not use the account database as the store of your notebooks.

Sync is off unless you turn it on. If you connect a supported service, such as Baidu Netdisk, OneDrive, S3, or WebDAV, the notes you choose to sync are transferred between your device and that service.

You choose the service and keep its credentials. Those files are governed by that service’s terms. Flexnote does not operate that storage and does not keep a separate copy of your notebooks as the store of your notes. We may change which services we support so the integrations remain compatible.

Publishing a whiteboard is optional. If you publish one, the content you include is available to anyone who has the link.

You can unpublish a board in the app. If a published link is still available after you delete your account, email appflexnote@gmail.com and ask us to take it down.

These features are optional. When you use Smart Index, OCR, or an AI feature, the text or image required for that request is sent to Alibaba Cloud DashScope so it can return a result. The desktop app may send that request directly to DashScope with a short-lived credential issued for your account.

We record how much of your quota was used. Flexnote does not use your notes to train its own models. DashScope processes the request under its own terms.

Paid plans are processed by the payment provider at checkout. The provider collects the payment credentials. Flexnote does not store your full card number.

We receive what is needed to grant the plan and keep a record of the order: the account email, the plan or product, the amount, the payment status, and an order identifier.

A signed-in session on myflexnote.com uses a cookie so the site can recognize the account.

The website also uses Google Ads measurement, Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Vercel Analytics. Those tools may receive your IP address, browser and device information, the pages you open, and the referring address. You can block cookies and similar technologies in your browser. Flexnote does not offer a separate opt-out switch for these website tools.

We use account and order information to provide the service, apply the plan you paid for, count Smart Index and OCR quota, answer support requests, and keep records needed for billing and disputes.

We use website measurement to understand visits to myflexnote.com and to measure advertising. We do not sell personal information.

We share information with service providers only as needed to run Flexnote: Supabase for accounts, the payment provider for checkout, Alibaba Cloud DashScope when you use an AI feature, and the website measurement tools named in section 8.

If you connect a cloud service or publish a whiteboard, the information goes to that service or to people who open the link, because you chose to do so.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if it is reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, or a security incident.

We keep account, subscription, purchase, and quota records while the account is open. Billing records may be kept longer where we need them for accounting, tax, or a dispute.

You may delete your account in the app or by emailing appflexnote@gmail.com. Deletion removes the account and the subscription, purchase, and quota records tied to it. It does not delete notes on your device, or files in a cloud service you connected. Remove those yourself.

Connections to the Flexnote website and APIs use HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.

The security of a cloud you connect depends on that service and on how you protect its credentials. The security of notes on your device depends on the device.

Flexnote is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal information, email appflexnote@gmail.com and we will delete the account.

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If you keep using Flexnote after the update, you acknowledge the revised policy.
